Fixing a Loose Cable Bow: Hair Bow Care Guide

Quick Answer

A loose cable bow usually just needs a gentle re-tightening at the knot or a quick adjustment to the fabric loop. Check the fit before assuming the bow is worn out.

Diagnosis & Fix Steps

• Symptom: The bow slides off or feels too loose on your baby's head, even when tied normally.
• Likely Cause: The knot at the center of the bow may have loosened, or the fabric loop has been stretched from repeated pulling.
• Corrective Action: Gently pull the two tails of the bow to tighten the knot. If the bow still feels loose, carefully adjust the fabric loop by pulling it through the knot again. For the tan pink bow, the soft nylon will hold its shape once re-tightened. If the knot won't stay tightened, the bow may be stretched beyond its natural elasticity.
• When to Replace: If the fabric has permanent stretching or fraying after multiple adjustments, it's time for a new bow. The Cable Bow's one-size-fits-all design works best when the nylon is still springy.
